Context
A global consumer electronics company sold through several brand storefronts that shared a content platform. The sites needed to meet accessibility requirements across the whole portfolio, not one page at a time.
Problem
Accessibility issues were spread across brands and recurred with every new campaign, because the fixes lived in individual pages instead of in the shared components. Each storefront was solving the same problems again.
Approach
I acted as accessibility lead on the program: auditing the storefronts against WCAG AA, prioritizing the issues that affected the most users, and — crucially — moving the fixes into the shared component layer during an AEM component relaunch. Focus handling, contrast and keyboard behavior were resolved once, in components, so they’d hold across brands and future campaigns.
Outcome
Several brand e-commerce sites reached WCAG AA, and the relaunched components meant new pages inherited that baseline instead of reintroducing the same defects. Accessibility shifted from a per-page cleanup to a property of the system.
